WhatsApp working on a new feature to hide status to some specific users
WhatsApp is undoubtedly one of the best chatting apps ever made. The app served as the saving grace of socialites when all hope was lost. It helped families stay connected over thousands of miles and is still serving this purpose. The app is used by millions of people every day.
This newest feature is already available to some Android users But the Android beta versions of WhatsApp 2.22.20.7 and 2.22.20.9 will soon allow you to hide your status to some specific users.
WhatsApp is rolling out several exciting updates to its users to provide a better interface. The Meta-owned app has now released the ability to hide the online status to some iOS beta users. The update has been submitted through the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version up to 22.20.0.70, reported WABetaInfo.
There is currently no timeframe, but the global deployment will happen after, just like with any other experimental feature.
If a user chooses “My contacts” and “same as last seen”, it means that non-contacts will not be able to see when he/she is online. The feature is released to some lucky beta users. More activations will take place in the coming few weeks.
It’s crucial to have the “hide online status” option. We will ultimately receive the update for our cellphones because Meta made the official announcement.
Last month, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Facebook that three new features would be released on WhatsApp. The features which are likely to be released soon, include past group participants, screenshot blocking, and hiding your online status on the app.
Anyway, If you want to test every new feature of Whatsapp then you can sign up for the beta program of WhatsApp.
